Ready To Go - A car named Dave - Gallery

Day One - Day two - Day Three - Day Four - Day Five - The End!

Thoughts from the team - Chris - Adrian - Dan - Al

We all assembled in a car park in Calais and the sound and sight of approximately 200 cars was unbelievable, sirens, flashing lights. We will get some video footage and photos added soon.

The convoy set off for the long drive through France to Sarnen in Switzerland approximately 530 miles and we gave up counting how many tolls we had to pay! As the miles went by the welcome sight of another mad car decorated for the event was a welcome sight and broke the boredom of driving in France.
Every service station was littered with team cars, bonnets in the air for emergency repairs or just to cool down, not "Dave" he just plodded along at a steady speed eating the miles.

Entering Switzerland was a nice milestone and what a nice place, our hotel was located a couple of miles from the main event hotel but the view was worth the extra few miles. We decided it may be prudent to check the oil and water levels as the last leg of the journey involved some steep hills. "Dave" had used no oil and no water, our £100 car was behaving like a £10,000 car.

We took a trip to the main hotel to hand in our points from the days challenge which was some crappy old scrabble game to take photos of French number plates and do something with it, as you can tell my enthusiasm for this was some what lacking and I would have rather boiled my head in tar, but the rest of the team got stuck in.

On arriving at the main hotel we find the the Marshals were only just showing up and nobody seemed to know what was going on. A complete damp squid. So it was back to our hotel for some supper and a reflection on the days events.
