Ready To Go - A car named Dave - Gallery

Day One - Day two - Day Three - Day Four - Day Five - The End!

Thoughts from the team - Chris - Adrian - Dan - Al

Finally September has arrived, so are we are busy checking the car over, doing the last minute safety checks, making sure it will actually get to Rome? NO

The radio works so what can possibly go wrong?

We have a team meeting scheduled for the 9th where we will discuss the important issues like will Albert remember to turn up for the rally and does he really look and sound like Bez from the Happy Mondays

We also need to find out what expertise Adrian has in the steering wheel department as his brother Jon has cast aspersions!

Don't forget to visit our brave sponsors Loquax the UK competition Portal

Team meeting went well, we all agreed the car needs a flashing red light on top, well actually no we didn't, 3 of us agreed it needed a red light, but I think if you are going to be a bear you may as well be a grizzly! so flashing it is!

We all agreed the Loquax duck which is a big duck is going on the rear parcel shelf and will also be flashing! and will be available for photo oppurtunity's and the occasional roof top appearance!

We briefly covered the oily bits but dismissed them all and agreed the radio does work. It has a state of the art cassette deck and we had to explain to Dan what a cassette tape was and that at one time you used to turn the tv over by hand and it only had 3 channels! the young ones of today don't know they are born!

Dan was also mortified at the thought of his Dad bringing along his "when I was a lad" tapes, Rush and Led Zepplin etc.

As the team were together at the same time as the car!
a photo oppurtunity was not to be missed.

So a quick recap, we bought the car without seeing it, drove it 32 miles home from Crewe, spent £10 on an indicator lens, had an MOT done, drove it 14 miles to Manchester to get it sprayed, drove it 14 miles back from Manchester and now we are going to drive it 1400 miles to Italy!

Theres nothing like extensive testing and tuning and we have done nothing like that!

Staples to Naples or as it should be known Calais to Rome!

The world is split into 10 kinds of people. Those who understand Binary, and those who don't.
